The cat is out, Canon has just announced the release date for not one but two new full frame bodies, the 5Ds and 5Ds R dSLR and available for pre-order here.

Canon has been a pioneer in innovation in the digital photography industry especially for “affordable” full frame bodies.

We can all remember the Canon 5D as the first affordable full frame digital camera which has been the workhorse for legendary photographers around the world.

The 5D Mark II has started the era of hi resolution cameras above the 20MP mark. It has also intercede video capabilities from a full frame body allowing cinematographers to be even more creative with the range of lenses available.

The Canon 5D Mark III has been the last one in the line up to carry a (mark) number, also with significants added features, and a shy boost in resolution, compares to the 5D Mark II.

Now is the era of ultra-high-resolution camera to pack not less than 50mega pixels.

AS sexy as it sounds on the paper, leaks and talks have sparkled around the web and we will definitely keep an eye out for an on-the-field test of this new comer.

In the mean time, some specs (source BH Photo & Video):
