Earlier this week, a post on a Facebook group page attracted my attention following a blog post by someone of the RiotACT website.

The post is from a mother of the groom asking why when mentioning the word Wedding for photography, “every” photographer would add a 0 to the bill..?

When the question seems innocent and founded (.!.), it has stirred up some 78 comments, at the time of this post, from all direction either from non photographers and potential brides and grooms. Some even shared their own experience with “amateur” photographer and the  argument of “you get what you pay for”..

At the same time, the discussion was in high intensity in the Facebook photographers’ page with professionals raging the why of the how and reasons they have to charge what they do.

The shared link to the post in the Photographers’ Den FaceBook page has reached 96 comments with all valuable information that would greatly profit the interested party..

Sadly, as is the case in most situation, the main concerned is always the last to know. Facebook being “isolated” from search engines and unless you access the information within FaceBook, there is no way you can have an “appropriate” answer to your question other than trolls’ rants.

On the debate about “It seems as soon as one mentions the ‘W’ word – wedding – photographers add a zero to their fee.” RiotACT has 78 comments and The photographers’ Den has 96 comments.

The “Pro” Photographers WIN.. But sadly only them know why they have to charge what they do and the customer will only know that they spend that much money to see a dud with a camera during the time of the event/wedding ..

We all know that there is way more involved than that, don’t we?

Let us know what you think Pro photographers should charge for a wedding in the comments below..
